VKM is Norway's scientific authority for CITES
The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), aim is to ensure that international trade in wild animals and plants is regulated so as to protect their survival.
In the role as CITES' Scientific Authority, VKM is responsible for preparing all scientific assessments needed to effectively carry out the convention in Norway.
