VKM is Norway's partner with EFSA og CITES
EFSA, the European Food Safety Authority, helps to improve food security, protect consumers and maintain confidence in EU food production.
As a point of contact, VKM promotes the exchange of information and knowledge between EFSA and the member countries and contributes to joint projects. In addition, VKM works to make EFSA's work visible in Norway.
The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, CITES, works to ensure that trade in endangered species and their products is regulated and monitored to protect species from extinction.
As a scientific authority, VKM is responsible for producing all the scientific assessments needed to effectively carry out the CITES agreement in Norway.
