The Norwegian Scientific Committee for Food Safety has changed its name to the Norwegian Scientific Committee for Food and Environment.
The background is the decision of the Ministry of Climate and Environment October 24 to expand VKM's environmental portfolio.
"The change was correct and necessary to reflect our social mission," says Director Lars E. Hanssen, the Norwegian Scientific Committee for Food and Environment.
He is very pleased that the new name came into place so quickly.
VKM has conducted risk assessments in the field of Alien Organisms, Trade in Endangered Species and Microbial Ecology for the Norwegian Environment Agency for a two-year trial period.
