Main message:
The VKM GMO Panel is routinely asked by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority and the Directorate for Nature Management to comment on GMO applications being assessed by EFSA.
In these cases the panel makes a risk assessment using the documentation from the producer (from EFSAnet) as well as other published literature.
On the basis of this assessment, the Panel decides whether it shall make comments on EFSAnet.
