Main message:
The assessment of the genetically modified herbicide and insect tolerant maize hybrid 1507 x NK603 from Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. and Mycogen Seeds (EFSA/GMO/UK/2004/05) was carried out by VKM’s panel 3.
There was an application to use the hybrid in food and feed in Norway, and VKM was asked by the Directorate for Nature Management and the Norwegian Food Safety Authority to do a scientific risk assessment of 1507 x NK603 considering potential effects on health and environment.
